Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

1. The service

This service is an exam-grading assistant: it generates a reference solution, proposes grades for scanned copies using artificial-intelligence models, and provides review, verification and export tools. It is currently operated on a trial basis, with no guarantee of availability or data retention.

2. The teacher's role and AI

Grades suggested by AI models are proposals. The teacher remains solely responsible for the grades awarded: every copy must be reviewed and explicitly verified before its results appear in exports or emails. The tool is built to preserve this human oversight (review marks, per-copy verification, audit log), in line with the requirements applicable to AI systems used in education.

3. Account and acceptable use

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all use of your account. You agree to use the service only for grading exams in an educational context, to upload only documents you are entitled to process, and to follow your institution's rules on student data.

4. Data we process

The service processes: your account (name, email, hashed password, settings), your exams and answer keys, scanned student copies (which may contain names, student numbers and handwriting), grades and comments, and a log of grading actions. API keys and SMTP passwords you store are encrypted.

Sub-processors: copies and exams are sent to the configured AI provider (by default OpenRouter and the selected model's provider, potentially outside the EU) to produce corrections. Transactional emails are sent through our email provider. Hosting is on our servers.

For student data, the teacher (or their institution) remains the data controller; the service acts as a tool on their behalf. It is the teacher's responsibility to inform students in line with their institution's rules.

5. Retention and deletion

Copies and results are kept until you delete them (per-session archive and purge, or account deletion). You can download all your data at any time (Settings → Data & privacy) and delete your account, which permanently removes your sessions, files and results.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, portability and erasure of your data. The export and account-deletion features implement them directly; for any other request, contact us at the address below.

7. Availability and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect damages, data loss, or decisions taken based on the produced results. Keep your own backups of important results (CSV/ZIP exports).

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may change; substantial changes will be announced in the application. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Contact and governing law
